Smokefree Russia is a national program run by the Health and Development Foundation providing information and support to communities, individuals, and businesses who want a greater understanding of new anti-tobacco legislation in Russia, and what they can do to promote smoke-free public places.

One of the organizations supporting our work on this initiative is the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease. HDF also partners with regional organizations and societies throughout Russia on local initiatives and programs promoting smoking cessation and educating specialists, business, and the general public on the new federal legislation.

In addition to its work supporting a national coalition of interested parties working towards a smoke-free environment and a healthy population, Smokefree Russia acts as an information hub, providing resources on its website and also conducting webinars for specialists and educators.

HDF also recently launched a mobile application for the program, which is aimed at encouraging and supporting community involvement in promoting the new legislation by giving volunteers the opportunity to rate compliance through interactive maps of their city or town, and through interactive information tools.
